Team from City Dogs Wins National Championship
Megan Magnant and her black and white Border Collie, Roxy, won the first ever AKC 12" Preferred National Agility Championship in Tulsa, OK the end of March.
Magnant and Roxy took the top honor by first qualifying for the AKC Nationals - an annual, very large agility trial desgined to crown the National Champions in each class. The team qualified in October, 2009.
The next step was for the team to make finals at Nationals. With consistency and speed, the duo qualified in second position, putting them in great position to win the National competition and earn the PNAC title (Preferred National Agility Champion).
The finals were extremely exciting, and Magnant and Roxy had to overcome some impressive teams, including former World Team attenders. But the duo was up to the challenge, and managed to hold off all competitors to win!
Roxy is now PNAC Roxy,...thank you very much!
This team deserves this title as Magnant and Roxy have both worked long hours in the agility field and out of it to earn the money for shows and put in the practice needed to qualify and win.
Roxy turned 11 the day after earning her PNAC title.
Next year's National Championships will be in Perry, GA, and if Roxy is still doing well and loving agility, the team may well be there to defend their title as they are not far from qualifying for the 2011 Nationals.
Congrats to Citydoggers Roxy and Megan for an unforgettable moment for all who witnessed it!
