City Dogs Sends Five Teams to Nationals
City Dogs has reached a new milestone by having more teams qualify and attend the 2010 AKC Agility National Championships than any other school or club in the state!!
Five teams from City Dogs attended the 2010 Nationals, held this year very close to home in Tulsa, OK the last weekend of March.
Teams attending included Megan Magnant and her Border Collie Roxy, Lisa Harper and her Sheltie Samson, Sally Sheridan and her Golden Retriever Bang, Chris Hatchett and her Sheltie Zoe and Kristin Kaldahl and her Sheltie Aslan.
To even qualify for Nationals, teams must earn 6 Double Qs and 400 MACH speed points. Qualifying in and of itself is a huge accomplishment.
"I'm very proud of each and every Citydogger who qualified and attended this year's Nationals," said Kaldahl, who is the owner/trainer at City Dogs. "Each of these teams had their own issues and difficulties to overcome just to qualify, and then all of them also attended the big show held this year in Tulsa."
The 2011 Nationals will be held in Perry, GA, and several City Dog teams are already very close to qualifying.
"Nationals is a tremendous experience, and some teams try for years unsuccessfully to attend. It's been an incredible experience to see so many of my students run at the National level," said Kaldahl.
In addition, Magnant and her BC Roxy also WON their class at the National competition, becoming the AKC's first ever 12" Preferred National Champions!! Roxy is now known as PNAC Roxy. PNAC is a title standing for Preferred National Champion. This is the AKC's most prestigious agility designation!
