Citydogger Become Only AKC Agility Judge in Oklahoma
Candy Nettles, a City Dogs student who lives near Altus, OK, became
the only AKC Agility Judge in the state of Oklahoma this weekend after
attending an AKC judges' seminar held in Columbus, Ohio at Wild Weavers
Agility Club. .
Becoming an AKC judge is a very difficult process. The applicant has to pass around nine tests and be extremely well versed in the rules and in practical judging. It is well known that few pass the judge's tests on their first try.
Nettles said, "The AKC Agility Director and all of the Reps were there, so we had some very in-depth discussions on all aspects of agility trials. We covered everything from accepting an assignment to the final paperwork."
Nettles is now listed as a provisional judge. We are very
proud
of her accomplishment and happy to have an "in house" judge here at
City Dogs.
The only other AKC agility judge ever in the state was Sally
Sheridan, who no longer judges. However, she, too, is a current
student at City
Dogs.
Way to go Candy!! We are very proud of you!!
