Bang MACHs!
Bang, a Golden Retriever owned and handled by Sally Sheridan, earned her MACH (Master Agiity CHampion) on June 8th in Glen Carbon, IL. It is believed that Bang is the first dog in Oklahoma to have a dual championship with one of those Champion titles being the coveted MACH title. Bang is also a conformation Champion.
Bang is also only the sixth Golden Retriever in the Nation to earn the Conformation Champion and the MACH.
Sally and Bang entered the trial in Glen Carbon, IL needing 13 MACH points to reach the 750 speed points necessary for the title of MACH. Bang has been running particularly fast in recent weeks, gaining more points with each qualifying run.
Now Bang is Ch. MACH Benden Worlds Collide at MPG SH, XF, WCX, VCX
Sheridan said of their victory lap, "I felt shy about entering the ring, but a couple folks started clapping for us, so Bang and I ran a victory lap at full speed with MACH bar and ribbon. For once I got to watch her run and jump without having to worry about handling. I came off the course in tears, full of pride that we had completed an accomplishment so others would know what I already knew - just how special this dog is."
Bang is the third dog to earn MACH while a student at City Dogs. No other school in the city has dogs who have earned AKC's highest agility title. We are very proud of Sally and Bang and their accomplishments not only in agility but in conformation, field and soon to be obedience. Bang is truly a "Multi-Purpose Golden."
