Citydoggers Qualify for 2008 AKC Agility Nationals
The first Citydoggers have qualified for the 2008 AKC Agility National Championships. Kristin Kaldahl and MACH Aslan, a five year old sheltie, qualified for the event this May. The qualifications for the event have been increased this year. Now dogs must earn 6 QQs and 400 speed points.
Aslan and Kaldahl attended Nationals last year.
"It was an even more incredible experience than I had anticipated," Kaldahl said "It was so inspiring to see the best teams in the nation gathered in one place. Run after run had outstanding team work, speed and accuracy. And the atmosphere was super-charged. What a blast!"
The AKC has announced that the 2008 AKC Agility National Championships will be held this year in Tulsa, Oklahoma, just down the highway! Make plans early to attend, as hotels will fill. The AKC is looking for local volunteers. Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact the AKC.
This marks the third year that dogs from City Dogs have qualified for the prestigious event. Other Citydoggers are in the hunt to attend Nationals this next year. Stay tuned to see who qualifies!
